Dental Treatment Coordinator

Job Title: Dental Treatment Coordinator
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday – Friday (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
Location: 8741 Saginaw Hwy, Suite M, Lansing, Just across Menards. Michigan

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced, patient-focused Dental Treatment Coordinator to join our growing dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a key role in helping patients understand their treatment plans, coordinating care, verifying insurance benefits, and guiding patients through financial options. This position requires exceptional communication skills, attention to detail, and prior experience in a dental office.

Responsibilities

Present and explain treatment plans to patients clearly and professionally.
Review treatment recommendations and answer patient questions.
Verify dental insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage.
Prepare treatment estimates and explain patient financial responsibilities.
Discuss payment options and financing programs.
Obtain pre-authorizations when required by insurance carriers.
Schedule treatment appointments based on clinical recommendations.
Coordinate with dentists, hygienists, and front office staff to ensure seamless patient care.
Follow up with patients regarding unscheduled treatment and pending appointments.
Maintain accurate patient records and treatment documentation.
Assist patients with insurance claims and billing inquiries.
Monitor outstanding treatment and help improve case acceptance.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and office policies.
Provide exceptional customer service throughout the patient experience.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum 2 years of Dental Treatment Coordinator experience required.
Strong knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
Experience verifying dental insurance benefits and explaining coverage.
Knowledge of PPO, HMO, Medicaid, and fee-for-service plans preferred.
Experience with dental practice management software such as Dentrix.
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.

Preferred Skills

Experience presenting comprehensive treatment plans.
Knowledge of dental coding (CDT) and insurance claims.
Experience discussing financing options such as CareCredit or third-party financing.
Strong case acceptance and patient relationship-building skills.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced dental practice.
Positive attitude with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
