POSITION SUMMARY
Operate computer-controlled machines or robots to perform one or more machine functions on metal work pieces.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
- Operate equipment proficiently, including saws, pipe groovers, cutting center (plasma, oxy-fuel, and laser), shears, press brakes, and rolls.
- Examine, inspect, and measure raw materials and finished products to verify compliance with specifications; apply accurate measurement techniques and basic math skills as required.
- Operate levers and controls for lifting devices, including lift beams, swivel hooks, hoists, and elevating platforms to safely load, unload, transport and stack materials.
- Manually or mechanically load and unload materials from pallets, skids, platforms, cars, lifting devices, or other transport vehicles.
- Position lifting devices under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, and boxes and secure materials or products for transport to designated areas.
- Read and interpret work instructions, blueprints and mill schedules to determine setup requirements, work sequences, product dimensions, and operating procedures.
- Select appropriate rolls and dies and adjust machine setups to form specified contours and fabricate products to required specifications.
- Troubleshoot machine issues and error codes to minimize downtime and maintain production flow.
- Signal team members to discharge, dump or level materials safely and efficiently.
- Operate forklifts and pallet jacks as needed during the shift in accordance with operating practices.
- Comply with established safety policies and procedures. Wear required Personal Protective Equipment as directed. Use appropriate tools designed for their specific job tasks. Provide feedback related to hazard assessments and/or accident investigations.
