We are seeking a hands-on Workshop Lead / Senior Cabinetmaker with commercial millwork experience to take ownership of daily production in a growing cabinetry and millwork shop.
This is a working production role, not a desk or supervisory-only position. You will build cabinetry and plan, sequence, and keep the workshop productive so work moves forward without daily owner involvement.
The workshop is relocating to Easton, MD, which will be the long-term base of operations.
Responsibilities
- Build cabinets and millwork components hands-on, daily
- Plan and sequence shop work to maintain steady production flow
- Create materials lists and ensure parts and supplies are ordered on time
- Identify and resolve production blockers before they stop work
- Maintain quality standards for fit, finish, tolerances, and consistency
- Improve shop organization, layout, and efficiency over time (lean mindset welcomed)
Keeping the shop productive is as important as building cabinets.
Experience & Qualifications
Required
- Strong hands-on cabinetmaking experience
- Prior experience in commercial millwork or production millwork shops
- Ability to read drawings, specs, and shop drawings and plan work accordingly
- Experience coordinating materials, lead times, and sequencing
- Ownership mindset — if production stalls, you help fix it
- Calm, professional, solutions-oriented approach
Preferred
- Experience with casework, paneling, reception desks, libraries, or institutional millwork
- Familiarity with production standards, repeatability, and quality control in commercial work
- Interest in improving workflow, layout, and standard processes
Not a fit if you are only looking to “just build” without owning flow or planning.
Growth Opportunity
As the shop grows, this role can evolve into a Production Manager or Operations Lead position. We are looking for someone who wants to help build a strong, structured commercial-grade operation over time.
- Performance-based increases and bonuses tied to shop uptime and delivery
We already have the business.
We’re building the system.
