Assistant Manager / General Manager

We are looking for experienced Assistant Managers and General Managers who are ready to take ownership, lead people, and grow with a company that values strong leadership.

What You'll Do

As a member of our management team, you will be responsible for leading restaurant operations while developing and motivating your team.

Leadership & Team Development

Lead, coach, and develop restaurant team members and Shift Managers.
Create a positive, accountable, and high-performing work environment.
Conduct training, coaching, and performance conversations.
Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and retention.
Build strong relationships with your team while maintaining appropriate leadership standards.

Restaurant Operations

Ensure excellent guest service and a positive restaurant experience.
Maintain Zaxby’s standards for food quality, speed, cleanliness, and hospitality.
Manage daily restaurant operations and shift execution.
Ensure proper food safety, sanitation, and operational procedures.
Monitor inventory, food costs, labor, waste, and other controllable expenses.
Maintain accurate cash handling and restaurant security procedures.
Ensure all required training and operational standards are completed.

Performance & Accountability

Review restaurant performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
Drive sales, guest satisfaction, labor efficiency, and profitability.
Hold team members and managers accountable to established expectations.
Communicate effectively with the General Manager and leadership team.
Help create and execute action plans to improve restaurant performance.

General Manager Expectations

For candidates applying for the General Manager position, we are looking for leaders who can take full ownership of the restaurant and its results.

The General Manager is responsible for:

Overall restaurant performance and profitability.
Hiring, developing, and retaining a strong management team.
Staffing and scheduling.
Labor and food cost management.
Guest satisfaction and restaurant reputation.
Food safety and operational compliance.
Developing future leaders within the organization.
Establishing clear expectations and holding the team accountable.
Communicating effectively with ownership and senior leadership.

What We're Looking For

Assistant Manager candidates:

Previous restaurant or hospitality management experience preferred.
Strong communication and leadership skills.
Ability to coach and develop employees.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

General Manager candidates:

2+ years of restaurant management experience preferred.
Proven ability to lead a team and manage restaurant operations.
Strong understanding of labor, food cost, inventory, and profitability.
Experience hiring, training, coaching, and developing managers.
Strong accountability and decision-making skills.
Ability to analyze restaurant performance and take action.
Ability to lead by example and maintain high standards.
