Full Job Description

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our healthcare team, supporting the nutritional needs of residents in assisted living, nursing homes, or hospital settings.

The Dietary Aide plays a vital role in meal service, food preparation, sanitation, and ensuring a safe and welcoming dining environment. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the well-being and comfort of residents through attentive food service and dietary support. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent time management skills, culinary aptitude, and a strong commitment to food safety standards.

Schedule:
5 days a week

Sat & Sun: 6:30am-8pm
Weekdays: 6:30am-2pm or 3pm-8pm

Pay Rate:
$18.00-$20.00 per hour

Responsibilities

Assist in preparing and serving nutritious meals tailored to residents’ dietary requirements, including special diets and therapeutic menus.
Support food production activities by assembling ingredients, portioning meals, and ensuring proper presentation.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas, dining rooms, utensils, and food handling surfaces in accordance with health regulations.
Handle food safely by following proper storage, handling, and sanitation procedures to prevent contamination.
Buss tables and clear dining areas promptly after meal service to ensure a clean environment.
Assist with meal delivery within the facility, ensuring timely service and resident satisfaction.
Support dietary department operations by organizing supplies, stocking food items, and assisting with inventory management.
Follow all safety protocols related to food handling, sanitation, and kitchen equipment operation.
Provide excellent customer service by engaging with residents courteously during meal times.
Support the overall functioning of the dietary team by performing light cooking tasks and assisting with meal preparation as needed.
Adhere to all policies related to food safety standards, sanitation practices, and regulatory compliance.
5 days a week with alternating weekends

Experience

Candidates should have prior experience in food service or food handling roles within assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or similar healthcare environments. Experience in culinary arts or the food industry is highly valued. Familiarity with dietary department operations—including meal preparation for special diets—and knowledge of food safety regulations are essential. Previous dietary aide experience or roles involving customer service in a healthcare setting will strengthen an applicant’s candidacy. Strong time management skills combined with attention to detail are critical for success in this role.
