Full Job Description

CNC Machinist / Programmer – 2nd Shift

Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 3:30 p.m.–1:30 a.m.
Shift Differential: Additional $4.00 per hour

Position Summary

DYNAMIC Fitness & Strength is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist / Programmer to join our second-shift manufacturing team. This position is responsible for setting up, programming/editing, operating, and troubleshooting CNC lathe equipment to produce precision machined components in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.

The ideal candidate will have strong CNC lathe experience, the ability to independently set up machines and prove out programs, and a commitment to safety, quality, and productivity.

Duties and Responsibilities

Set up, program/edit, and operate CNC lathe machines to manufacture precision components.
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, sketches, work instructions, and specifications.
Perform machine setups, including tooling selection, tool changes, offsets, and adjustments.
Edit CNC programs and prove out new or modified programs as required.
Determine appropriate machine setups and machining processes based on drawings and work instructions.
Manufacture detailed parts and components to specified dimensions and tolerances.
Use precision measuring and inspection equipment to verify finished parts meet required specifications.
Monitor machining operations and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.
Identify and troubleshoot minor machine, tooling, and programming issues.
Perform minor equipment adjustments and repairs as appropriate.
Perform mathematical and geometric calculations necessary for machining operations.
Communicate with engineering, quality, and production personnel to resolve questions regarding part specifications, drawings, or machining requirements.
Maintain established production and efficiency standards while ensuring product quality.
Follow all company safety procedures, standard operating procedures, and quality requirements.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years of CNC lathe machining experience.
Experience with CNC machine setup, operation, program editing, and troubleshooting.
Ability to independently set up CNC lathe equipment and prove out programs.
Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
Knowledge of machining processes, tooling, speeds, feeds, tolerances, and precision measurement.
Ability to perform mathematical and geometric calculations related to machining.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail with a strong commitment to quality.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to understand and follow standard operating procedures and safety requirements.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively in a team environment.
Ability to speak, read, and write English sufficiently to understand work instructions, safety requirements, and technical documentation.
Trade school degree, diploma, or certificate in machining or a related field is preferred.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
Ability to stand and work at CNC equipment for extended periods.
Ability to perform the bending, reaching, lifting, and other physical activities associated with a manufacturing and machining environment.

Pay: $24.00 - $32.00 per hour
