Do you love working with infants?
We are looking for a teacher who loves to care for infants. Our center is looking for someone who enjoys clapping to music and tummy time just as much as our infants do, someone who is at the child's level and in tune with their tiny friends. Of course we must have someone with a bubbly and fun personality as well!
You will teach and care for children (Infants) enrolled in our childcare center, while demonstrating exceptional professional conduct and consideration for the educational development, safety, and welfare of the children.
Requirements:
- Be able to work Full time.
- Experience in the child care related field.
- High School Diploma/GED is required.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds.
- Must meet state educational requirements for teachers and additional center/ school requirements may apply.
- Current First-Aid, CPR, AED, SIDS and SBS Certificates or willing to obtain
- Current Registry Certificate or willing to obtain within 6 months of hire
- Support organizational mission, philosophies, values, goals, and policies.
Responsibilities
- Develop a careful and creative program suitable for toddler and infant children
- Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media, etc.) to teach children
- Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem
- Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments
- Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers, or colors, do crafts, etc.)
- Organize nap and snack hours and supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times
- Track children’s progress and report to parents
- Communicate with parents regularly to understand the children’s background and psyche
- Collaborate with other educators
- Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards
Skills
- Proven experience as a Teacher
- Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods
- Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
- Excellent communication and instructional skills
- Ability to act as a mediator between children
- Cool-tempered, friendly, and reliable
- Balance between a creative mind and a practical acumen
- Certification in child CPR
- Valid license or training to practice the profession
Additional Details:
FTRELC is a fully licensed child care center for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years. We are open Monday - Friday from 7:00am to 5:30pm. Working hours can vary between 6:45am and 5:45pm.
