Twin Cities Tax is looking for a seasoned tax professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-tech environment and loves solving complex problems for clients across five generations. If you’re ready for a role where there’s truly never a dull moment, this is your chance to shine!

What You’ll Do - Be a Tax Expert for our Clients / Build our Team

The successful hire will be able to seamlessly integrate into our practice and handle complex tax preparation as well as day to day operations such as:

Onboard clients using modern tools like Drake Portal and Google Workspace Forms—both in person and virtually.
Collect payments and schedule appointments.
Assist clients with questionnaires and interviews.
Handle data entry & prep of returns.
Enter comparative data from past returns.
Perform 3-year comparison analyses to uncover trends and opportunities.
Communicate in a motivating, caring way with Clients.
Spot weak or incorrect positions in prior filings and motivate clients (with a playful touch!) to upgrade to stronger strategies that reduce compliance risks and set them up for long-term success.
Review Returns/Consult with Clients prior to signing.

Experience: Minimum 3 years in tax preparation.

Drake Tax (or devotion to training yourself by Jan. 31)

Requirements

Must be available to work in our Prior Lake office MOST days, though we do work a hybrid schedule with one-two days in home offices once candidates meet criteria.

Limited time off during tax season.

Candidate must be willing to voluntarily comply with state & federal mandates, new regulations, and always changing rules.

Professional and politically neutral.

Sense of humor about our industry and how tax clients predictably behave. If they were super organized and understood everything they wouldn't need us!

Love that there is never a dull moment in our work and always more to learn.

MANDATORY:

PTIN (If you haven't had one, you'll need one)

Credit score 700+ (Walk the walk, not just talk the talk)

No criminal background. (We handle sensitive financial info)

Drug testing upon request.

All tax returns filed and taxes paid or in an installment agreement, this will be checked via e-services 8821 form.

US citizen & US location - no offshore work EVER due to 7216 req.

High attention to detail, accurate entry and speed.

Self-discipline.

Ability to track time accurately.

Be on time and ready to work at the right time.
