Full Job Description

We are seeking an experienced CNC Operator to operate cutting, routing, and CNC machinery used in the manufacture of plastic components. This role involves working with a range of plastic materials to produce high-quality parts to precise specifications.

Key Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC routers, CNC mills, and cutting machines for plastic materials
Machine plastics such as acrylic (PMMA), polycarbonate, PVC, HDPE, ABS, nylon, and similar materials
Read and interpret technical drawings, CAD outputs, and job specifications
Select appropriate tooling, feeds, and speeds for plastic machining
Load materials, secure workpieces, and monitor machine performance
Perform quality inspections to ensure accuracy, finish, and tolerances
Conduct basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Meet production targets while maintaining high quality standards

Requirements

Proven experience operating CNC machines or routers, preferably in plastic fabrication or machining
Ability to read technical drawings and use measuring instruments
Understanding of plastic machining characteristics (heat control, chip removal, tool selection)
Strong attention to detail and quality control
Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Commitment to workplace health and safety

Preferred (but not essential)

CNC programming or editing experience (G-code)
Experience polishing, finishing, or bonding plastic components
Experience with vacuum tables, nesting, or sheet plastics
Forklift license or relevant trade certification
