Position Summary
Asset Panda is seeking a Junior Engineer (Contract-to-Hire) with strong skills in TypeScript, React, AWS, and OpenSearch.
You’ll work on designing, developing, and optimizing new features for our B2B SaaS platform, ensuring scalability and performance in a modern serverless architecture. This is an exciting opportunity to grow your technical expertise, collaborate with experienced engineers, and contribute directly to a high-impact product used worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain both front-end and back-end components of our SaaS platform.
- Build responsive, user-friendly UIs using React and TypeScript.
- Design scalable serverless services and APIs using AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, and S3.
- Optimize search performance with OpenSearch (index design, analyzers, relevance tuning).
- Collaborate with product, design, QA, and DevOps teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code following SOLID principles.
- Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions.
- Enhance CI/CD pipelines (AWS CodePipeline, GitHub Actions) and improve monitoring with CloudWatch.
- Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to long-term reliability improvements.
- Stay up to date on new technologies and best practices in SaaS and serverless development.
Qualifications
Required:
- 3+ years of experience in full-stack SaaS development.
- Advanced proficiency in TypeScript and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
- Hands-on experience with React (Hooks, Context API, Redux, or Next.js).
- Strong knowledge of AWS services: Lambda, DynamoDB, S3.
- Experience with OpenSearch or Elasticsearch (indexing, analyzers, scaling).
- Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs or GraphQL.
- Understanding of authentication and security (JWT, OAuth).
- Proficiency with Git and Agile tools (e.g., Jira, Trello).
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred:
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (AWS CDK, Terraform, or CloudFormation).
- Familiarity with serverless and event-driven architectures (EventBridge, SNS/SQS).
- Exposure to AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, CodeWhisperer).
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Redis, or caching and load balancing.
- Interest in DevOps, security scanning, and compliance (SOC 2, GDPR).
