Full Job Description

About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Credentialing and Administrative Support Coordinator to join our Ambulatory Surgery Center team. This position is responsible for coordinating physician credentialing and privileging activities, onboarding new employees, maintaining compliance documentation, and providing administrative support across multiple departments.

The ideal candidate is proactive, adaptable, and willing to be cross-trained in business office functions, including patient registration, scheduling, and medical records management. This role plays a vital part in ensuring operational efficiency and regulatory compliance throughout the organization.

Essential Responsibilities:

Credentialing & Medical Staff Services

Coordinate provider credentialing, recredentialing, and privileging processes.
Maintain physician and allied health professional credentialing files.
Monitor license, certification, DEA, malpractice insurance, and other provider credential expiration dates.
Prepare and submit credentialing applications to payers and regulatory agencies.
Maintain compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards.
Assist with medical staff meeting preparation and documentation as needed.

Human Resources & Staff Onboarding

Coordinate onboarding activities for new employees.
Collect and maintain required employment documentation.
Track employee certifications, training requirements, and annual compliance requirements.
Assist with orientation and onboarding processes.
Maintain confidential personnel records.

Administrative & Business Office Support

Cross-train and provide support for front office operations.
Assist with patient check-in and registration processes.
Schedule patient procedures and appointments as needed.
Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information.
Provide administrative support to ASC leadership and clinical departments.

Medical Records Support

Assist with medical record maintenance and organization.
Process requests for medical records in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Ensure accurate filing and retention of patient documentation.
Support audits and quality assurance activities.

Schedule

Full-time position
Rotating Saturdays required

Qualifications

Required

High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 2 years of healthcare administrative experience.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic record systems.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Preferred

Experience with provider credentialing and privileging.
Experience in an Ambulatory Surgery Center, physician practice, or healthcare setting.
Knowledge of Medicare, commercial payer credentialing requirements, and accreditation standards.
Familiarity with patient scheduling, registration, and medical records processes.
Bilingual, Spanish a plus
