Purchasing Analyst - Compliance Specialist

Job Summary

The Purchasing & Logistics Specialist is responsible for managing procurement processes, coordinating supply chain activities, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services. This role works closely with suppliers, internal departments, and logistics providers to maintain optimal inventory levels and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Purchasing

· Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best quality, price, and delivery terms

· Issue purchase orders and track order status to ensure timely delivery

· Maintain supplier relationships and evaluate vendor performance

· Monitor inventory levels and work with planner to forecast purchasing needs

· Ensure compliance with company policies and procurement procedures

Logistics & Supply Chain Coordination

· Coordinate domestic and international shipments (air, sea, and land)

· Manage shipping documentation, including invoices, packing lists, and customs paperwork

· Track shipments and resolve delivery issues or delays

· Optimize transportation routes and costs

· Collaborate with warehouse teams to ensure accurate receiving and dispatch

Compliance & Cost Control

· Ensure compliance with customs regulations, import/export laws, and safety standards

· Monitor and control purchasing and logistics costs

· Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings

Reporting & Documentation

· Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and deliveries

· Generate reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, and logistics efficiency

· Use ERP or procurement systems to manage data and workflows

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field

· 2–5 years of experience in purchasing, logistics, or supply chain roles

· Strong negotiation and communication skills

· Knowledge of supply chain processes and inventory management

· Familiarity with ERP systems (Acumatica, Oracle-JDE, or similar)

· Ability to multitask and work under pressure

Preferred Skills

· Experience in international shipping and customs procedures

· Analytical and problem-solving abilities

· Attention to detail and organizational skills

· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis

· Certification (e.g., APICS, CPSM) is a plus
