Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Monitor Technician to join our healthcare team at a leading medical facility. In this vital role, you will be responsible for continuously observing patients' cardiac rhythms and vital signs, ensuring prompt identification of any abnormalities or emergent conditions. The Monitor Technician plays a crucial part in supporting clinical staff by providing accurate, real-time data to facilitate timely interventions. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a comprehensive understanding of cardiovascular monitoring and physiology.

Responsibilities

Continuously monitor patients' electrocardiogram (ECG) readings, vital signs, and other physiological data in real-time to detect arrhythmias or critical changes.
Document and interpret cardiac rhythms accurately, alerting nursing staff or physicians immediately when abnormalities are identified.
Maintain detailed records of patient monitoring data, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
Assist with diagnostic evaluations by recognizing patterns indicative of specific cardiac or vascular conditions.
Support the clinical team during procedures such as interventional radiology, cardiac catheterization, and other invasive diagnostics.
Ensure adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols during all monitoring activities.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including cardiology, emergency medicine, and trauma services to provide comprehensive patient care.
Maintain proficiency in anatomy knowledge, physiology principles, and medical terminology relevant to cardiovascular health.
Operate specialized equipment used in the cath lab, telemetry units, and sonography as required.
Participate in ongoing training related to Level I Trauma Center standards, emergency medicine protocols, and advanced monitoring techniques.

Skills

Strong knowledge of interventional radiology procedures and cardiac catheterization processes.
Experience with telemetry monitoring systems and interpreting complex cardiac rhythms.
Understanding of physiology principles related to cardiovascular function and vital signs management.
Proficiency in medical terminology pertinent to cardiology and emergency medicine.
Familiarity with interventional cardiology practices and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
Ability to recognize critical changes in vital signs promptly and accurately.
Knowledge of aseptic techniques and infection prevention measures within high-acuity environments such as Level I Trauma Centers.
Experience working in trauma settings or Level II trauma centers is preferred.
Excellent observational skills combined with effective communication abilities for rapid reporting.
Capable of working efficiently under pressure in fast-paced environments requiring acute attention to detail.
