We are seeking Environmental Health and Safety Coordinators with experience in environmental remediation and geotechnical construction. The candidate will work under the direction of our Corporate Environmental Health and Safety Manager and Project Site Managers.
Responsibilities will include:
The development of Site-Specific Health and Safety Plans, Job Safety Analysis, and overall implementation of the Geo-Solutions Health and Safety program on the project level. Day-to-day tasks include:
- Air Monitoring and reporting
- Daily safety meetings
- Safety audits
- Update of site HAZCOM program
- Incident reporting and investigation
Individuals must be willing to travel to project sites across the US, and be capable of working outdoors up to seven days a week (and/or rotational schedules) and have a safety-related degree. Our ideal candidate has 3 years of construction EH&S experience and a firm grasp of construction industry best practices.

- Bonuses - Historically, GSI has been fortunate enough to pay its employees cash bonuses at the end of the year, which are dependent on the performance of the company and the individual. Bonuses and raises (if applicable) are presented at yearly reviews conducted at the end of the calendar year.
- Professional Licenses – GSI will reimburse reasonable costs of obtaining certain professional licenses (e.g. Professional Engineering (P.E.), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) licenses). Reimbursements are contingent on supervisor’s pre-approval.
- Industry Professional Memberships – GSI reimburses membership fees for employee participation in related industry professional societies (e.g. American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Deep Foundations Institute (DFI), etc.)
- Conferences Attendance – GSI covers registration fees for approved attendance at industry related conferences as well as reimbursement of travel expenses (airfare, lodging, meals, etc.). Conference attendance days are considered paid working days.
- Continuing Education - Certain continuing education classes may be reimbursed by the company, if determined mutually beneficial for both the employee and company. GSI does not currently have a program for reimbursing employees for associate, bachelors, masters or other advanced degrees, but could consider such reimbursement if this made sense for the company and the employee.
While you are assigned to field projects, you would receive additional reimbursements, which currently include:
- Travel / lodging - Project-related travel expenses fully covered by the company, including air fares and lodging.
- Per-Diem - to cover meals and incidental expenses. Additional per-diem is provided for employees who choose to forgo the company provided lodging for their own accommodations, such as campers.
- Vehicles – When driving to projects, personal vehicle coverage, including mileage and/or flat rate, is provided.
- Mileage reimbursement for business use of personal vehicle at the allowable rate per the IRS
- Weekly Vehicle allowance when assigned to field projects
- Rental vehicles provided at project location when employees fly
- Rotations - One trip home (weekend) for every 3 weeks of field service. In lieu of your trip home you may elect to take a travel voucher
