Key Responsibilities

Develop, document, and execute test cases, scripts, and plans.

Perform functional, regression, performance, and user acceptance testing.

Collaborate closely with development and product teams to understand requirements and ensure quality at all stages of the software development lifecycle.

Identify, document, and track defects using tools like Jira.

Validate database integrity using SQL queries and ensure proper integration between components.

Continuously improve testing processes and methodologies.

Qualifications

Technical Skills

Domain Knowledge:

Understanding of accounting principles and workflows.

Familiarity with accounting software like QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero.

Testing Tools:

Proficiency in Postman for API testing.

Experience with API documentation tools like Swagger or OpenAPI.

API Testing:

Deep understanding of RESTful APIs.

Ability to test complex API workflows related to accounting operations (e.g., ledger entries, invoicing, tax calculations).

Familiarity with data formats like JSON, XML, and CSV.

Strong knowledge of HTTP status codes and error handling.

Automation:

Experience with API test automation frameworks.

Familiarity with using Newman for Postman test automation.

Ability to integrate API testing into CI/CD pipelines.

Data Validation:

Skills in validating data accuracy and consistency across APIs.

Understanding of database testing and SQL queries for backend validation.

Microservices Knowledge:

Understanding of microservices architecture and inter-service communication.

Knowledge of messaging systems (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka) used for asynchronous operations.

Security Testing:

Familiarity with OAuth, JWT, and other API authentication methods.

Ability to identify common security vulnerabilities (e.g., SQL injection, data exposure).
