About the Role:

The 96th Test Wing is looking for a Full-Time Budget Analyst (NH-0560-03) to work at the 96th Test Wing (96TW/FMA) at Eglin AFB.

In this role you will serve as a budget analyst performing detailed analysis for multi-year funding requirements in support of the 96th Test Wing. Managing execution of funds by continuously monitoring obligations and expenditures to ensure effective utilization of resources. The candidate will be expected to provide expert financial advice on budget matters to include: funds availability, expenditure limitations, adjustments, and to develop financial plans that integrate with broader organizational priorities.

Location: Eglin Air Force Base

Typical 2026 salary range: $89,508 - $138,370 Per Year

Travel Requirements: Occasional Travel

Areas of Consideration (AOC): Service – wide (US Air Force)

Incentives:

Desired Skills:

2 years of experience with the RDT&E appropriation desired

2 years of experience with CCaR desired

2 years of experience with data management systems, data analysis, and decision support desired

Major Duties:

Formulates and defends multi-year budget estimates aligned with 96th Test Wing mission priorities, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and seamless organizational integration.

Directs the execution of allocated funds by continuously monitoring obligations and expenditures to optimize resource utilization and prevent funding shortfalls.

Forecasts financial execution trends using automated systems and data models to predict spending patterns, mitigate risks, and recommend critical mid-year adjustments.

Applies comprehensive PPBE expertise and funding knowledge to guide senior leadership through complex multi-year, annual, and revolving fund structures.

Communicates complex financial data clearly through written justifications and oral briefings, effectively defending budgetary decisions and negotiating funding requirements.

Qualifications/Requirements:

U.S. Citizenship

Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance

This is a Financial Management Level 2 Certified position IAW the national Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Public Law 112-81, Subtitle F-Financial Management Section 1599d. (con.t)
This is a DAWIA- BFM: Practitioner Certified Position (Previously Level 2)
Comprehensive knowledge of federal budgetary methods, principles, laws, regulations, and financial management practices, including budget formulation, justification, execution, and reporting.
Ability to develop, analyze, and manage multi-year financial plans that align with the mission, objectives, and operational requirements of the organization.
Thorough understanding of the DoD Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process, including its phases, products, and regulatory framework.
