Home Health Aide - PRN

Job Summary: The primary function of the Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.) is to provide healthcare and related services to the patient in their place of residence; to assist in providing a safe and clean environment, work cooperatively with patient and family and share observation and problem with the supervisor. The C.N.A. will be responsible for feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming, or moving patients The Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.) works under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse.
Job Classification: Reports to RN Case Manager
Job Qualifications for the Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A):
Education:

High School diploma preferred and has successfully completed one of the following:

A.) Training program/competency eval as specified in Medicare regulations
B.) Nurse aide training/competency eval program approved by the state and listed in good standing on the state nurse aide registry
C.) State Certificate that meets requirements.

Experience:
One year experience preferred as a Home Health Aide or Nursing Assistant in a hospital,nursing home, home health agency, hospice, or long term care facility or completion of Certified Nursing Assistant or Certified Home Health Aide Program.

Skills:

Be able to read, write and have excellent communication skills.
Work as a team member and follow written and verbal instructions effectively.
Ability to organize and prioritize with good interpersonal skills.
Demonstrates interest in the welfare of the ill and elderly.
Self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision

Requirements:

Proof of CPR certification, negative TB screen and Hepatitis profile.
Must be able to pass criminal background check and drug screening.
All C.N.A.’s must have reliable transportation, current auto liability insurance and have a good driving record.

Environmental Work Conditions: Our home health aides work in patient’s homes in various conditions. They will be assisting nurses or physicians in the operation of medical equipment or provision of patient care. Changing bed linens and/or making beds; cleaning and sanitizing patient rooms, bathrooms and other patient areas. There is the possible exposure to blood and body fluids and infectious disease. The need for the ability to work flexible schedule, travel locally & have possible exposure to unpleasant weather.

Physical and Mental Effort: Prolonged standing and walking required. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move patients. Requires working under some stressful conditions to meet deadlines, to identify patient needs, to make quick decisions and meet patient/family needs. Require hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. Ability to utilize durable medical equipment in the home.

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
