Certified Lead Auditor
Location: Poway, CA (100% Onsite)
Job Type: Direct Hire | Full-Time
Shift: Day Shift
Salary: $70,000–$100,000 annually (Based on experience)

About the Role

General Atomics is seeking a Certified Lead Auditor to join its Quality team in Poway, CA. This position is responsible for leading AS9100 quality audits, maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving continuous process improvement in an aerospace and defense manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and conduct AS9100 internal and external quality audits.
Serve as the primary point of contact for the Quality Management System (QMS).
Evaluate business and quality processes for compliance with quality standards.
Support root cause analysis and Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA).
Prepare audit reports, findings, and present results to management.
Develop audit schedules, checklists, and follow-up activities.
Support internal and external audit responses.
Maintain company quality procedures, work instructions, and documentation.
Ensure ongoing compliance with AS9100 standards.
Train production personnel on quality requirements and procedures.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.

Required Qualifications (Must Have)

AS9100 Lead Auditor Certification (Probitas preferred; other accredited certifications accepted)
Experience conducting and leading AS9100 quality audits
Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS)
Experience with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA)
Experience supporting internal and external audits
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)

Preferred Experience

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related discipline
6+ years of progressive professional experience
Aerospace, aviation, defense, or highly regulated manufacturing environment
Experience presenting audit findings to senior leadership
Experience managing quality documentation, policies, and procedures
