Our dealership is now hiring a Deposit Accounting Clerk to work in our busy Accounting Office! If you have dealership experience and are looking to get your foot in the door with a dealer group that refuses to slow down, look no further...APPLY TODAY!

Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounting Clerk to join our accounting team at our OEM automotive dealership. This position is primarily responsible for processing daily deposits and performing related accounting functions to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal policies and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Accurately record and reconcile daily deposits from all departments, including sales, service, parts, and finance
Monitor, verify, and process incoming funds from cash, cheques, credit card transactions, and electronic transfers
Prepare daily bank deposit slips and ensure timely delivery to the bank, where applicable
Post and reconcile financial transactions in the dealership management system (DMS), including inventory, daily deposits, service contracts, and deal postings
Investigate, identify, and resolve discrepancies or irregularities related to deposit and transaction records
Collaborate with department managers to clarify, verify, or correct documentation and financial data as needed
Assist with bank reconciliations, cash management activities, and preparation of related journal entries
Support end-of-day, month-end, and year-end closing processes to ensure accurate financial reporting
Maintain organized and accurate filing systems for deposit documentation, contracts, and accounting records
Assist with internal and external audits by preparing and providing required documentation
Perform general accounting duties and provide administrative support as assigned by the Office Manager or Controller

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
1–2 years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role, preferably in an automotive dealership or retail environment.
Familiarity with dealership management systems (e.g., CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds) a plus.
Strong understanding of accounting principles related to cash handling and reconciliation.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with high levels of accuracy.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.

Working Conditions:

Standard office environment within the dealership.
Full-time position, Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime during month-end or audits.
