Full Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. In this vital role, you will manage the day-to-day financial record-keeping processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. Your expertise will support the organization’s financial health by maintaining precise records, reconciling accounts, and assisting with financial reporting. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven organization that values integrity, accuracy, and efficiency. The ideal candidate is energetic, motivated, and passionate about maintaining impeccable financial records using leading accounting software.

Duties

Record and process journal entries accurately within various accounting software platforms such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and others
Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliation to ensure all accounts are balanced and discrepancies are resolved promptly
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice processing and payment tracking
Conduct account analysis and balance sheet reconciliation to verify the integrity of financial data
Assist with payroll processing, tax filings, and governmental accounting requirements in compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
Prepare detailed financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements for internal review
Support budgeting processes by analyzing expenses and revenue streams to help optimize financial planning efforts

Skills

Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, and other financial management tools
Strong understanding of GAAP standards and double-entry bookkeeping principles
Experience with bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, and general ledger accounting
Knowledge of governmental accounting practices and tax regulations is a plus
Ability to perform high-volume data entry with 10-key typing skills while maintaining accuracy
Excellent analytical skills for account analysis and account reconciliation tasks
Familiarity with payroll processing, accounts payable/receivable management, and budgeting techniques
Effective communication skills for financial report writing and collaborating across teams
