Job Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Home Health Intake Coordinator to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients seeking home health services, ensuring a seamless intake process that promotes excellent patient experiences. Your energetic approach and strong organizational skills will help coordinate patient information, verify insurance details, and facilitate communication between patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to quality home health care delivery while maintaining compliance with health regulations and privacy standards.

Duties

Manage incoming patient inquiries via phone, email, and in-person interactions with enthusiasm and professionalism
Collect and verify patient demographic information, insurance details, and medical history accurately using patient management software and Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
Coordinate with healthcare providers to schedule initial assessments and ensure timely onboarding of new patients
Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient information in accordance with HIPAA and other health regulation policies
Support medical administrative tasks such as data entry, appointment scheduling, and document preparation using Microsoft Office tools
Communicate effectively with patients regarding their care plans, insurance requirements, and follow-up procedures
Assist in verifying insurance coverage, obtaining authorizations, and explaining health insurance policies to patients
Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure all intake documentation complies with regulatory standards and internal protocols

Experience

Prior experience working in a medical office environment or healthcare setting is highly preferred
Familiarity with medical terminology, health regulation policies, and electronic health records (EHR/EHR management systems) is essential
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook for administrative support tasks
Experience handling patient management software or customer service roles within healthcare or dental office settings is advantageous
Strong understanding of health insurance processes, including verification and authorization procedures
Excellent phone communication skills paired with the ability to manage multiple client interactions efficiently
Ability to maintain patient confidentiality diligently while managing sensitive information accurately
Previous experience in a home health office environment
