Job Title: Purchasing Analyst
Position Overview:
Vinton Steel seeks a highly organized, hardworking and self-motivated, knowledgeable and dynamic
Purchasing Analyst with optimistic assertiveness, superior expertise, exceptional leadership and comprehensive skills set to efficaciously perform procurement responsibilities. Additionally, potential candidate to be duty-bound of self-confidence, excellent customer service and communication skills to commendably execute diverse department functions in a rapidly changing and demanding business environment.
Purchasing Analyst will report directly to Procurement Manager with minimal direct supervision; however, demonstrating the ability to successfully perform delegated tasks according to expectations. Responsibilities and Duties:
- Analytical deliberation to cost savings alternatives
- Attend mandatory training and professional development sessions
- Availability to work extended work hours as needed
- Collaborate with Accounting Team on related task inclusive yet not limited to invoices, contracts and any joint matter
- Continuous and superb communication with all vendor/supplier to maintain optimal business relationships
- Develop purchasing strategies resourceful to the successful completion of procurement responsibilities
- Effective recordkeeping and monitoring of all orders submitted to track goods procured and fulfilment of delivery dates, similarly to develop reports to monitor procurements and significant key indicators
- Engage with interdepartmental managers to monitor inventory levels, verify chain supply, identify any potential issues and facilitate updates to any procurement inquiries in endeavors to deliver goods according to deadlines
- Establish ethical and professional relationships with colleagues, management as well as vendor/supplier
- Expedite all purchase requisitions and purchase orders in the utmost timeliest to ensure the timely fulfillment of goods requested
- Flexibility and willingness to participate in additional department responsibilities
- Maintain effective communication with vendor/supplier to determine and validate prices, product availability, secure lead times, delivery dates, review warranties and applicable terms, as well as excellent negotiations
- Network with vendor/supplier to optimize all potential sources to procure goods at the most viable and cost effective manner
- Uphold ongoing market analysis to identify developing trends, new products/services and likewise explore new business opportunities
- Work collectively with Warehouse to coordinate the proper reception of orders submitted and delivered
- Work jointly with other departments to effectively problem-solve any issues presented and obtain immediate and favorable outcomes
Qualifications & Skills:
- Ability to effectively multi-task, prioritize and rapidly adapt to changing and diverse business environment
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures
- Bilingual (Spanish)
- Capability to diligently and safely perform all assigned responsibilities
- Effective grammar, mathematical and writing skills
- Exceptional customer service focus
- Experience with use of office and peripheral devices (multiple line commuter, copiers, scanners, calculators and processing terminals, in addition to common hardware)
- Facility to engage and work well with others
- Great communication and listening skills
- Knowledge in Purchasing and or related industry with proven record
- Possess integrity and reputable work ethic
- Advanced knowledge with SAP operational system
- Possess analytical and tactical decision-making and problem solving skills
- Proficiency with computer software such as Microsoft (Office Word, Excel, Power Point)
- Superb time management, leadership, team building, interpersonal, dynamic and organizational skills
Minimum required education and experience:
Associate’s degree with 4 years’ experience in office setting preferred primarily accomplishing procurement duties
Bilingual English/Spanish
SAP knowledge is required.
Preferred education and experience:
Bachelor’s degree and proven 2-year experience successfully executing procurement responsibilities and effectively contributing to the organization’s success and momentum
