About Paragon Professional Services

Paragon offers a wide range of environmental investigation, consulting, compliance, and remediation services as well as IT solutions, Facility O&M, Materiel Support, Supply and Security to both private- and public-sector clients throughout Alaska and the Continental U.S. Paragon’s experienced professional staff is dedicated to producing high-quality documentation and providing safe field execution to support its clients’ projects in line with local, state and federal guidelines and regulations.

About this position: Lieutenant Location – El Paso, TX

The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Wage/Salary Range: $32.89 per hr.

Applicants will be notified via phone or email within ten (10) business days of submittal.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Observe shift muster, provide pass-down to the oncoming shift, conduct personnel inspection, and forward discrepancy reports to Management as necessary
Directly supervising the Shift Supervisors in performance of duties in regard to company policy, ICE Policy, PBNDS, PREA, and Facility SOP.
Supervise shift operations, ensuring Officers are performing their duties in accordance with post orders. Ensure all counts are conducted at prescribed times.
Review Supervisor Post Checks/Prepare Daily Operations summary.
Act as Incident Commander in conjunction with ICE.
Responding to any/all incidents occurring on shift. Supervising the preparation of required incident reports, ensuring Management and Agency personnel are notified of all serious incidents, and all reports are submitted in a timely manner.
Conducting employee/Detainee injury investigations in accordance with policies.
Reviewing Record of Presence to ensure all shift personnel have signed in/out properly.
Conducting daily equipment inventory of controlled equipment.
Preparing performance appraisals for Shift Supervisors.
Other duties as assigned by Management.

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications

Education Requirements: Preferred Bachelor’s degree in related field
Level of Experience Requirements: 6 months’ experience at the EPSPC
Trained and familiar with all policies and procedures within the Control Center PQS Booklet

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing.
Computer skills, including proficiency in various Microsoft Office Suite programs.
Obtain and Maintain PSU Clearance
Ability to meet Physical Requirements as required by contract.
Must be able to work rotating shifts.
Well-versed in camp operations

Preferred

Bachelor’s degree in a related field

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position will have supervisory responsibilities.

DOT Covered/Safety-Sensitive Role Requirements

This position is not subject to federal requirements regarding Department of Transportation “safety-sensitive” functions.

Must be able to run with a fire extinguisher for long distances if necessary.
Required to frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
Required to occasionally lift 50+ lbs.
Must be physically capable of responding to emergency situations that could include fire, or physical altercations

Work is in a correctional facility requiring attentiveness to surroundings and safety,
Includes all areas of the secured facility. Often work alone or with minimal supervision.
May be exposed to sharp objects or blood borne pathogens.
Exposure to outdoor sun and climate conditions for 8 or more hours is possible.
Sitting for long periods of time in an office environment for 8 or more hours per day.
Exposure to noise may be frequent.
Exposure to chemicals

Additional Qualifying Factors

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain and maintain the appropriate clearance levels required and must also be able to obtain access to military installations.
