Job Overview

SBNG is seeking a Corporate Accountant to work for a client in the international trade industry, specializing in natural gas trade with Mexico. The position is responsible for managing complex financial transactions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and preparing accurate financial statements. The position supports the organization’s financial health and strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, and possesses a strong foundation in accounting principles, including GAAP, SOX compliance, and governmental accounting standards.

Job Description & requirements:

·Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.

· Documents financial transactions by entering account information

· Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options

· Summarizes current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports

· Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures

·Substantiates financial transactions with audit documents.

· Guides accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions

· Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information

· Secures financial information by completing data base backups

· Maintains financial security by following internal controls

· Prepares payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements

· Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations

· Complies with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions

· Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.

· Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential

· Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies

· Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

· Analysis of operations with related parties under the concept of transfer pricing (tax)

· Coordination of internal and external work team for the elaboration of an advanced price agreement between related parties (Advanced Pricing Agreement-APA)

· Establish the pricing policy between related parties

· Monitoring of the fiscal result of the company for projection of advance payment of federal income tax, and coordination with an external accountant.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
Extensive experience in corporate accounting or financial management.
Proficiency with accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, or similar tools; advanced Excel skills including data analysis functions like VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, double entry bookkeeping, accrual accounting, and technical accounting standards.
Knowledge of SOX compliance procedures and securities law regulations.
Experience with international tax accounting affairs is a plus.
Demonstrated ability to perform account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, balance sheet analysis, and financial report writing.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data for strategic insights.
Effective communication skills for mentoring team members and collaborating across departments.
Billinguial skills are necessary as this position reports to international corporate group located in Mexico.

Pay: From $68,000.00 per year
