STARTING SALARY : $62,200 to $108,176 annually. Salary is commensurate with experience.
JOB PURPOSE:
Under the general direction of the Manager of Beneficial Electrification, the Program Specialist – Electrification and Energy Innovation Programs will support the development and implementation of innovative customer programs that are helping shape the future of energy in our communities. As a member of the Beneficial Electrification team, you will play an active role in expanding Transportation Electrification (TE), battery energy storage, and other innovative customer programs. You'll have the opportunity to work on projects from concept through implementation while collaborating with customers, local governments, businesses, schools, technology providers, and community organizations.
This role offers broad exposure to utility innovation. Responsibilities may include supporting customer rebate programs, coordinating EV charging projects, assisting with business case development, evaluating emerging technologies, participating in Requests for Proposals (RFPs), supporting regulatory filings, tracking program performance, and helping implement new customer programs.
The Program Specialist will also play a key role in customer engagement by coordinating EV education and outreach activities, including Ride & Drive events, community presentations, conferences, and stakeholder meetings. Working closely with Public Relations, Government Affairs, Key Accounts, and Customer Service, you will help increase awareness of company programs and improve the customer experience.
In addition, you will help manage program operations by reviewing rebate applications, tracking budgets and performance metrics, coordinating with contractors and vendors, processing purchase orders and invoices, preparing reports, and maintaining program documentation. You will also support the continued growth of innovative initiatives such as residential and commercial battery storage programs and other emerging energy technologies.

EDUCATION AND/OR SPECIAL TRAINING:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Accounting, Finance, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Economics, Political Science, Education, Communications, or other related degree or equivalent experience
EXPERIENCE AND MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with residential customers, commercial customers, community partners, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
Ability to support the administration of customer programs, including reviewing applications, maintaining records, tracking budgets, and preparing reports.
Ability to collect, organize, analyze, and present data to support program performance tracking and continuous improvement.
Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal departments, local businesses, community organizations, educational institutions, contractors, and other external stakeholders.
Ability to research, benchmark, and summarize utility programs, emerging technologies, and industry best practices.
Basic understanding of program management principles, including planning, coordination, budgeting, scheduling, and tracking project progress.
Ability to follow established procurement and Supply Chain Management procedures, including supporting Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Master Service Agreements (MSAs), Statements of Work (SOWs), Purchase Orders, and invoice processing.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Support the implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of Transportation Electrification (TE), battery energy storage, and other innovative customer programs.
Review and process customer rebate applications, verify program eligibility, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with program requirements.
Respond to customer inquiries regarding electric vehicle, battery storage, and other company programs through phone calls, emails, meetings, and community events.
Coordinate customer outreach and education activities, including Ride & Drive events, community presentations, stakeholder meetings, conferences, and other promotional events.
Collaborate with Public Relations, Government Affairs, Customer Service, Key Accounts, and external marketing partners to support customer outreach strategies, review marketing materials, and improve customer participation in company programs.
Monitor program performance by tracking participation, budgets, rebates, invoices, and key performance metrics, and prepare reports for management and regulatory purposes.
Assist with the development, implementation, and evaluation of new customer programs, pilot projects, and emerging technology initiatives.
Develop and maintain relationships with local businesses, municipalities, school districts, universities, community organizations, dealerships, contractors, and other stakeholders to support program implementation and customer participation.
Support procurement activities by assisting with Requests for Proposals (RFPs), contractor onboarding, Master Service Agreements (MSAs), Statements of Work (SOWs), Purchase Orders, and invoice processing in accordance with Company policies.
Assist with preparing business cases, grant applications, regulatory filings, presentations, and other reports supporting electrification and energy innovation initiatives.
Support ongoing initiatives including electric vehicle charging infrastructure, battery energy storage, vehicle-to-grid (V2G) pilots, electric mobility programs, and other emerging energy technologies.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, community partners, contractors, consultants, regulatory agencies, and internal departments.
Occasionally work evenings or weekends to support community events, customer outreach activities, conferences, or other business needs.
