Full Job Description

Torrance Memorial Physician Network (TMPN) is seeking a detail-oriented and analytically driven Financial Analyst to join our Finance team. In this role, you will support the financial operations of a dynamic, 250+ provider medical group by delivering accurate reporting, physician compensation analysis, and data-driven insights that inform clinical and operational decision-making. You will work closely with physician leaders and operations staff to maintain compensation data integrity, support the payroll process, and contribute to budgeting and financial planning efforts. Under general supervision, the Financial Analyst supports financial operations by extracting and analyzing data across multiple systems, producing accurate and actionable reports for diverse stakeholders, and assisting in the administration of physician compensation and payroll.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

· Assists in data collection, validation, and entry to support accurate and timely physician payroll administration

· Prepares and reviews monthly RVU, Revenue, and patient visit statistics for physicians and medical groups

· Participates in maintenance of physician contract database and tracks changes to physician compensation arrangements and employment status

· Assists with the development of provider profit & loss statements, and ad hoc analyses

· Investigates financial discrepancies and operational questions using historical data; presents findings and recommendations to management

· Participates in the annual budgeting process and budget variance analysis throughout the fiscal year

· Manages the tracking, documentation, and reimbursement of physician professional business expenses in accordance with company policy

· Manages data entry of non-patient-care and quality incentive-based medical revenue

· Performs additional reporting, analysis, and projects as assigned

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Healthcare Administration or related field

· Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in a healthcare financial or administrative setting required; familiarity with medical group operations, payer reimbursement, or physician practice finance is a plus

· Working knowledge of RVU (Relative Value Unit) methodology and physician compensation structures, including productivity-based, base salary, and quality incentive models, preferred

· Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) or practice management systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth) preferred; experience extracting and interpreting financial data from these platforms is a plus

· Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and data modeling; experience with report development and presentation

· Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into clear, audience-appropriate reporting

· Demonstrates sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism when handling sensitive compensation and patient financial data
