This position will work with adult learners who are pursuing a high school diploma, GED or post-secondary education. The tutor may also work with other students as assigned for college coursework or testing preparation. Duties and responsibilities are to select teaching methods based on the unique needs of students. Tutors may work one-on-one or help larger groups of students who have varying levels of academic abilities. The primary need is in the subjects of math, English and reading so the tutor must show proficiency based on academic coursework in these areas. Tutors are also to help students develop self-confidence and reduce the fear of failure. Tutors must be patient, responsible, empathetic, and mature with a commitment to and respect for students. The position will be located at various community agencies.

SALARY: $11-18 per hour depending on education and experience (not to exceed 19 hours per week .
