Full Job Description

Dorsey is a manufacturer of a full line of trailers and is the fastest-growing platform trailer manufacturer in the country. Generations of skilled craftsmen in Elba, Alabama take pride in building trailers that meet the road’s demands. Dorsey Trailer, LLC has an opening for experienced welders. This opening is in Elba, Alabama.

Key Responsibilities

Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
Measure, cut, and shape metal materials using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment
Perform MIG, and/or Stick welding based on project requirements
Assemble and fit metal components to meet design specifications
Inspect finished welds to ensure structural soundness and quality standards
Operate fabrication machinery such as press brakes, shear machines, and plasma cutters
Maintain welding equipment and tools in good working condition
Follow all workplace safety standards and procedures
Collaborate with supervisors and team members to complete projects on schedule

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent (Technical certification in Welding preferred)
Proven experience as a Welder/Fabricator or similar role
Proficiency in MIG, and TIG welding
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
Strong understanding of metal properties and fabrication techniques
Ability to use measuring tools such as calipers, tape measures, and squares
Physical ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

AWS (American Welding Society) certification
Experience working with stainless steel, aluminum, and structural steel

Hours

Monday through Friday 6:15 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Must be capable of working additional hours as needed.
