Full Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. This vital role offers an exciting opportunity to support a wide range of legal practices, including estate planning, environmental law, litigation, and specialized areas such as UCC law, tribal law, patent law, and workers' compensation law. The ideal candidate will be passionate about legal research, document management, and providing exceptional administrative support to attorneys and clients alike. This paid position is designed for proactive professionals eager to develop their legal expertise in a fast-paced environment committed to excellence and integrity.

Duties

Assist attorneys with case preparation by conducting comprehensive legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools
Draft, review, and proofread legal documents including contracts, pleadings, discovery requests, and correspondence with meticulous attention to detail
Manage case files and document review processes utilizing iManage and other document management systems to ensure accuracy and confidentiality
Support litigation processes through civil and commercial litigation support activities such as filing documents, organizing exhibits, and tracking case deadlines
Conduct client interviews and gather pertinent information for case development while maintaining professional communication standards
Maintain accurate data entry records related to case statuses, court dates, and client information using PCLaw or similar legal case management software
Handle administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, managing calendars, preparing reports, and providing executive administrative support as needed
Ensure procedural law compliance across various legal areas by staying updated on relevant regulations and court procedures
Support attorneys in specialized practice areas such as estate planning, family law, landlord-tenant law, securities law, immigration law, patent law, tribal regulations, personal injury cases—including personal injury law—and workers' compensation claims

Skills

Proven experience as a paralegal with strong knowledge of procedural law across multiple practice areas including litigation and transactional work
Exceptional legal research skills utilizing Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other research platforms to gather relevant case law and statutory information
Proficiency in document management systems such as iManage and familiarity with PCLaw for billing and case tracking
Excellent writing skills for drafting legal documents with clarity and precision; strong proofreading abilities to ensure error-free submissions
Effective client communication skills with professional phone etiquette; ability to interview clients thoroughly while maintaining confidentiality
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Experience supporting estate planning processes or environmental law projects is highly desirable
Familiarity with UCC (Uniform Commercial Code) law procedures; knowledge of land use regulations or tribal laws is a plus
Competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for daily administrative tasks; experience with document review and transcription preferred
Ability to handle confidential information discreetly while maintaining high ethical standards in all interactions
