Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Assistant General Manager to join our vibrant family owned and operated hospitality team. In this pivotal role, you will support the overall management of daily restaurant operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, efficient food production, and seamless team coordination. Your leadership will inspire staff, uphold food safety standards, and drive the restaurant’s success through proactive management and a passion for hospitality. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your management skills in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment dedicated to delivering memorable dining experiences.

Duties

Assist the General Manager in overseeing daily restaurant operations, including staff scheduling, shift management, and ensuring smooth service flow
Lead and motivate a diverse team of food service professionals, providing training, coaching, and development to enhance performance and teamwork
Manage food preparation processes, ensuring quality standards are met consistently across all menu items
Handle POS systems such as Toast POS for order processing, cash handling, and sales reconciliation
Maintain inventory control by monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste to optimize profitability
Enforce food safety protocols and sanitation standards in compliance with health regulations and company policies
Support kitchen management by supervising food production, ensuring timely delivery of orders, and maintaining high culinary standards
Assist with budgeting activities, including cost control measures related to food handling and labor expenses
Participate in interviewing prospective staff members to build a strong team aligned with our service excellence goals
Ensure excellent customer service by addressing guest concerns promptly and fostering a welcoming environment

Requirements

Proven experience in restaurant management or assistant manager roles within quick service or fast food environments
Strong background in food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations
Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for transaction processing and reporting
Demonstrated supervisory experience with staff training & development responsibilities
Knowledge of inventory control practices and food safety regulations (including HACCP standards)
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage shift operations effectively
Experience in managing budgets, controlling costs, and implementing operational improvements
Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on creating positive guest experiences
Ability to handle cash accurately and perform cash handling procedures confidently
Previous experience in hospitality management within casual dining or fine dining settings is highly desirable
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in food handling, quality assurance, and safety protocols
