Full Job Description

Department: Accounting

Reports to: Controller

Role:

The Assistant Controller is responsible for the gathering and analyzing of financial data and for reporting the results of financial transactions. Use of professional concepts and application of company policies and procedures to perform duties and resolve issues is expected. Working independently in an organized and purposeful manner in order to process financial information related to multiple entities is necessary to provide accurate financial information to management, financial institutions, and CPA firm in a timely manner.

Responsibilities:

Oversee all accounting processes for a land development/holding entities
Coordinate with CPA on Federal and State tax returns
Daily cash reconciliation and cash needs projection
Weekly cash reporting
Bi-weekly payroll journal entries
Quarterly sales & use tax reporting
Review all entity financials
Records job costing to include budgets, actual amounts, and variances
Records lot HUD closing entries and any other journal entries needed
Prepares construction draw requests for banking purposes and A/P disbursements
Processes cash management entries
Prepares and distributes all year-end required documents (ie: 1096, 1098, 1099, etc)
Maintains Fixed Asset schedules and depreciation schedules in coordination with CPA
Prepares and maintains debt schedules
Assist with and maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
Provides required quarterly information to banking institutions
Prepares and maintains comprehensive reports for management
Prepares month-end and year-end closings to include reporting and reconciliations
Assists in special projects as needed
Performs other duties as needed or required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
