Full Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled, compassionate, and detail-oriented Phlebotomist / Laboratory Assistant to join our clinical team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships with patients while maintaining a high standard of accuracy, organization, and clinical professionalism.

The ideal candidate is confident with venipuncture, comfortable working with patients, highly organized, and committed to creating a calm, reassuring experience for every patient.

Responsibilities

Perform venipuncture and blood collection safely, efficiently, and with minimal patient discomfort.
Collect, label, process, prepare, and package blood, urine, and other specimens according to laboratory requirements.
Follow proper specimen handling, storage, and transportation procedures.
Verify patient identification, test orders, specimen requirements, and requisitions.
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure specimens are properly tracked from collection through shipment.
Perform difficult or specialized blood draws when appropriate and within scope of training.
Provide a calm and reassuring experience for patients who may be anxious about blood draws.

Practice Support

Assist with rooming patients, vital signs, and other clinical support duties as needed.
Assist with medical records, laboratory requisitions, results, and related documentation.
Communicate effectively with outside laboratories, vendors, and members of the clinical team.
Help maintain efficient patient flow and support the overall operation of the practice.
Perform additional clinical or administrative duties appropriate to the role and level of training.

Qualifications

Previous professional phlebotomy experience required; experience in a physician's office or outpatient setting preferred.
Strong venipuncture and specimen-processing skills.
Familiarity with laboratory requisitions, specimen requirements, and outside laboratory procedures.
Knowledge of HIPAA, infection control, and standard safety practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
Comfortable working independently
Professional, dependable, compassionate, and service-oriented demeanor.
Concierge or private medical practice (a plus).

Hours: Monday - Thursday 8am - 4pm, Friday 8am - 12pm

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $25.00 per hour
