Full Job Description

Locally celebrated restaurant of over 21 years is looking for a talented and innovative Chef de Cuisine to join our culinary team. Rooted in Japanese cuisine while embracing contemporary technique and local, seasonal produce - we strive to creatively and humbly enhance dining in our region.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in menu curation, Asian cuisine, and seasonality. This role requires excellent leadership skills, creativity in menu planning, strong sense of collaboration, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality and safety.

The position reports to our Executive Chef and General Manager and works with Sushi Bar Management team to deliver outstanding dining experiences for our guests.

What You’ll Do:

Lead and inspire a talented kitchen team
Oversee daily kitchen operations in a fast-paced environment
Maintain exceptional food quality and consistency
Manage food cost, labor, inventory, and ordering
Hire, train, and develop kitchen staff
Create efficient systems and maintain a clean, organized kitchen
Collaborate with ownership on seasonal features, menu development, and special events
Ensure all food safety and health standards are consistently exceeded

We’re Looking For Someone Who:

Minimum 3+ years in a Leadership role in a professional kitchen
Experience in high-volume or fine dining restaurants preferred
Has a passion for Japanese cuisine and craftsmanship
Is a strong leader who builds a positive, accountable culture
Takes pride in quality and attention to detail
Is passionate about creating exceptional guest experiences
Strong knife skills and food preparation fundamentals
Ability to work efficiently under pressure
Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
Has excellent organizational and communication skills
Understands food costing, labor management, and kitchen operations
Flexibility for all shifts and weekends
