We are looking for candidates who are a High School Graduate or has a GED. We will train from any experience level, who are dependable, able to work and collaborate as part of a professional team, able to follow through with commitment, ability to follow directions, and have attention to detail. Successful candidates must have a clear & valid driver’s license, undergo and pass a drug screening and an employment background check, which includes being able to pass vehicle insurance driving record check and be willing and able to commute within 60 miles from the Traverse City branch to the office location and job sites..

Qualifications/Skills: The Plumber and/or HVAC Installer Apprentice must possess the following to be successful in this position:
- High School Diploma/GED and Great Work Ethic.
- Prior plumbing and/or HVAC Installer experience will help.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work well within a team.
- Driving: Candidate must possess & maintain a valid Michigan driver’s License, which includes being able to pass vehicle insurance driving record check.
- Pre-employment screenings: Pass an employment background check and drug screening test.
- Ability to consistently demonstrate a positive attendance record.
Duties, Responsibilities & Expectations: (And Not Limited To)
Reports to: Project Manager/Job Supervisor
The plumber and/or HVAC Installer apprentice position is responsible for showing up early to where they are to report for work, open to learning a trade, following directions and maintaining a professional attitude at all times.
Some other responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Work collaboratively with team members, onsite, to promote and ensure a 100% positive attitude experience. Teamwork skills are necessary.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Strong communication skills.
- Provide great customer service.
- Constantly be learning through training from assigned plumber journeymen/master and/or HVAC Installer foreman, independent study, peers and attending on-site trade training when available.
- Implementation of safe work practices. Safety is the top priority.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
- Complies with federal, state and local building and plumbing and mechanical codes by enforcing adherence to requirements, including ADA requirements.
- Clean, neat and professional appearance.
- Other job duties & responsibilities as assigned.
