Quality Visual Inspector
Essential Duties / Responsibilities
-
Responsible for reviewing and interpreting drawings and other technical data requirements to perform visual and dimensional checks on WIP and finished goods before releasing shipment.

Use of microscope and other basic inspection equipment (micrometers, calipers, depth gage, height gage, etc.)

Complying with all training, quality, compliance and safety policies, practices, procedure and Quality Management System Requirements.

Keeps management aware of any problems or potential problems in the quality of the product

Enter scrap, rework, rejection, claim, and inspection data
-
Work well in a fast-paced environment to meet customer needs
-
All other responsibilities assigned by the Manager
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
-
Attention to visual and written detail
-
Ability to use and read measurement inspection equipment, including but not limited to calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, visual surface comparators, depth mics, etc.

Effective communication skills, which include verbal and written skills in English
-
Must be able to multi-task, have a positive attitude, and handle pressure under deadlines in a professional manner.

Organization

Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and various specifications
-
Ability to work with a high magnification scope for extended periods of time
-
Must pass a vision screening and color test
-
Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook
Qualifications:
-
Must be able to sit or stand for up to 10 hours a day
-
Min 2 years of experience performing QA inspection in an aerospace manufacturing environment.

Ability to use and read measuring instruments.
Work Environment:
-
Sitting or standing for 10-hour shifts. Optional 8 hour shift available.
-
Moderate physical activity such as walking and lifting is required daily
-
Safety gear, such as approved safety glasses and safety shoes, are required at all times

The ability to lift up to 25 lbs regularly

Schedule:
-
8-hour shifts Monday – Friday
-
1st Shift 6:00 am – 2:30 pm (Training)
-
2nd Shift 2:30 pm – 11:00 pm (Actual Shift)

Some days may require a later end time depending on shipments for the day.
Employment Criteria:
This position includes access or potential access to ITAR technical data. Therefore, candidates will need to qualify as a US Person, which is defined as a US Citizen, a Permanent Resident who does not work for a foreign company/foreign government/foreign governmental agency or organization, or a political asylee in compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations.
