Blue Gate Hospitality is a well-established, family-owned business with a diverse portfolio that includes a restaurant, hotel, theatre, and retail operations. For generations, we have built our reputation on strong values, exceptional guest experiences, and long-term community relationships. We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Corporate Controller to join our leadership team and help guide the continued growth and financial strength of our organization.

Position Summary

The Corporate Controller will oversee all accounting and financial reporting functions across multiple business entities. This role requires a strategic financial leader who is equally comfortable managing day-to-day accounting operations and partnering with ownership on long-term planning and business decisions.

The ideal candidate will bring strong multi-entity accounting experience, leadership skills, operational insight, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, family-owned environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, payroll oversight, fixed assets, and cash management
Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements for multiple entities
Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis processes
Develop and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures
Coordinate annual review, tax preparation, and relationships with external CPA firms, financial institutions and insurance agents / companies
Monitor cash flow, banking relationships, and financing activities
Provide financial reporting and strategic recommendations to ownership and senior leadership
Oversee sales tax, occupancy tax, payroll tax, and other regulatory compliance requirements
Oversee insurance claims reporting for general liability, auto and workers' compensation
Analyze operational performance across hospitality, entertainment, and retail divisions
Mentor and lead accounting staff while fostering a positive team culture
Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
5+ years of progressive accounting or finance leadership experience
Multi-entity accounting experience strongly preferred
Experience in hospitality, retail, entertainment, or family-owned business environments is a plus
Experience using or implementing accounting automation systems a plus
Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls
Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills
High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism
Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
A clear criminal background check
