INOVA Federal Credit Union is seeking an experienced, strategic, and collaborative Vice President of Finance & Accounting to join our Executive Leadership Team.
This executive leadership position is responsible for overseeing the financial strength and operational integrity of the Credit Union while providing strategic guidance that supports organizational growth, financial stability, and exceptional member service.
Reporting directly to the President, the Vice President leads the Accounting, Electronic Services, and Fraud departments and oversees financial reporting, budgeting, investments, asset-liability management (ALM), regulatory compliance, enterprise risk management, and long-term financial planning.

Provide strategic leadership for the Accounting, Electronic Services, and Fraud departments.

Direct all accounting operations, including financial reporting, general ledger, accounts payable, fixed assets, and month-end and year-end close.

Lead the organization's annual budgeting process, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives.

Monitor organizational financial performance and provide strategic recommendations to executive leadership and the Board of Directors.

Oversee asset-liability management (ALM), liquidity, investments, capital planning, and balance sheet strategy.

Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), NCUA regulations, and all applicable federal and state requirements.

Lead fraud prevention, investigations, risk mitigation strategies, and enterprise-wide internal controls.

Oversee electronic payment services including ACH, debit and credit card operations, online banking, digital payments, and wire transfers.

Analyze financial, operational, and fraud-related trends to improve organizational performance and operational efficiency.

Develop and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard organizational assets and member information.

Recruit, mentor, and develop department leaders while promoting accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Partner with executive leadership to support strategic initiatives and organizational growth.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field preferred.

CPA, CMA, CTP, or other relevant professional certification preferred.

Minimum of five years of executive or senior leadership experience overseeing multiple functional areas, preferably within a financial institution.

Extensive experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, strategic planning, and performance management.

Strong understanding of asset-liability management (ALM), investments, liquidity management, and capital planning.

Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP, NCUA regulations, Call Report preparation, and financial institution accounting.

Proven ability to lead organizational change while developing high-performing teams.

Strong analytical, strategic planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Experience with financial systems, accounting software, business intelligence tools, and Microsoft Office applications.

Ability to maintain confidentiality while exercising sound professional judgment.

Excellent communication and executive presentation skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to diverse audiences.
This is a full-time executive leadership position based at INOVA Federal Credit Union's Corporate Office in Elkhart, Indiana.
The Vice President of Finance & Accounting serves as a key advisor to the President and Executive Leadership Team while collaborating with department leaders across the organization to support strategic planning, financial stewardship, operational excellence, and long-term organizational success.
