Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Bookkeeper to join our organization, supporting our financial operations through accurate and timely recording of transactions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in accounting principles, including double entry bookkeeping, account reconciliation, and financial report writing. This role is essential in maintaining the integrity of our financial data, ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and supporting various accounting functions across diverse sectors such as corporate and non-profit organizations. The successful applicant will demonstrate proficiency with leading accounting software platforms and possess a keen eye for detail to uphold the highest standards of financial accuracy.

Responsibilities

Record and manage journal entries, ensuring proper classification within the general ledger.
Perform bank reconciliations regularly to verify account balances and identify discrepancies.
Conduct balance sheet reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial statements.
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing and payment tracking.
Maintain accurate records of payroll transactions, tax filings, and other statutory compliance documentation.
Utilize QuickBooks to streamline bookkeeping processes.
Support governmental accounting requirements by ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Conduct account analysis to identify variances or irregularities requiring investigation.
Handle account reconciliation tasks, including reconciling debits & credits across various accounts.
Support internal audits by providing detailed documentation of financial transactions.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role with a minimum of two years’ experience in accounting functions.
Proficiency with QuickBooks
Strong understanding of GAAP standards and technical accounting concepts.
Experience with general ledger accounting, journal entries, and account reconciliation processes.
Knowledge of governmental accounting practices is preferred but not mandatory.
Familiarity with payroll processing and tax experience related to financial reporting.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Basic proficiency in 10-key typing for data entry accuracy.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
