Full-Time W-2 | Monday–Friday | $28–$35 Per Hour
Are you an experienced multi-skilled carpenter who enjoys residential repair and improvement work but is tired of chasing leads, preparing unpaid estimates, and managing every part of the business yourself?
Ace Handyman Services offers a better way to work.
We are seeking an experienced Multi-Skilled Carpenter to serve homeowners throughout Waukesha County and the Lake Country area.
This is a full-time, year-round W-2 position with consistent Monday–Friday hours and weekends off. We are looking for someone with strong carpentry skills who can also handle drywall, painting, minor plumbing and electrical, doors, trim, and a wide variety of general home repairs.
Our office handles marketing, incoming leads, scheduling, dispatching, and much of the administrative work so you can focus on solving problems, completing quality work, and taking care of customers.

Installing flooring, shelving, televisions, and household fixtures
Completing bathroom and kitchen updates
Replacing faucets, light fixtures, switches, outlets, ceiling fans, and similar items

You will work independently on most jobs while representing Ace Handyman Services professionally in our customers’ homes.
Your responsibilities will include:
Evaluating projects and determining appropriate repair solutions
Discussing repair options, expectations, and project details with homeowners
Coordinating materials with the customer and office when necessary
Keeping customers and the office informed throughout the project
Documenting completed work, job notes, photographs, receipts, and materials

Collecting payment upon completion of most projects
Most jobs are completed in a single visit. Larger multi-day or multi-craftsman projects require close coordination with our office team and fellow craftsmen to manage scheduling, materials, communication, and project completion.
Success in this position means becoming a trusted professional our customers ask for by name—someone known for quality workmanship, dependability, integrity, and excellent communication.
Five or more years of professional residential handyman, remodeling, carpentry, maintenance, or home-repair experience
Ability to independently assess, plan, and complete a broad range of residential repairs
Strong carpentry, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
Experience across multiple residential trades, including carpentry plus several areas such as drywall, painting, flooring, cabinetry, doors and windows, minor plumbing, minor electrical, decks, siding, and household installations
Ability to determine practical and appropriate repair solutions in the field
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Comfortable discussing repair options and project details directly with homeowners
Comfortable performing minor plumbing and electrical work that does not require a licensed trade professional
Ability to document work and communicate with the office using a smartphone or tablet
Comfortable collecting payment upon completion of most projects
Reliable vehicle capable of safely transporting tools, ladders, and occasional job materials during the onboarding and probationary period
Standard set of professional hand and power tools
Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record
Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and safely perform the physical requirements of residential repair work
Ability to successfully complete a background check
This is not an entry-level maintenance position. Applicants must have professional experience and be capable of independently completing a variety of residential repair and improvement projects.
Broad experience across multiple residential trades
Strong finish-carpentry skills
Experience working directly with homeowners
Experience leading or coordinating residential projects
Experience using ServiceTitan or similar field-service software
Experience identifying additional repair opportunities and explaining available solutions
OSHA, lead-safe renovation, or other construction-related certifications
Unlike many independent contractors, you can spend your time performing quality craftsmanship instead of chasing leads, wondering where the next project will come from, or managing every administrative detail yourself.
Our office works to keep your schedule productive while providing the support needed to serve customers successfully. We believe the best results come from teamwork between our craftsmen, office staff, and customers.
If you are a dependable, versatile craftsman who takes pride in your work, enjoys helping homeowners, and wants to join a professional organization that values quality over shortcuts, we would like to hear from you.
