Project Managers – Commercial Construction

Growth Solutions Team has been solely engaged by several well-established Baltimore-area construction contractors to search for experienced Project Managers and Pre-construction/Estimators to join their organizations. The name of the company as well as the job description will be provided to those candidates who are qualified and considered. These positions are all direct hire with the construction companies for immediately hire.
The projects may involve specialized construction scopes and may include structural steel and miscellaneous metals, pre-engineered building systems, electrical construction, concrete, building renovations, and other commercial specialty construction work.
We are interested in candidates with project management experience in one or more of these areas, as well as individuals from related specialty contracting or commercial construction backgrounds.
Depending on the specific role and organization, Project Managers may be involved in projects from initial estimating and preconstruction through final closeout, or may assume responsibility after a project has been awarded and turned over by a dedicated estimating/preconstruction department. Experience with estimating is valuable, but is not required for every position.
The strongest candidates will have:
- 4+ years of project management, assistant project management, project engineering, estimating, or similar construction experience. Field employees may qualify depending on the experience.
- Experience with commercial construction, specialty contracting, electrical contracting, steel fabrication/erection, concrete, pre-engineered buildings, or a related construction discipline.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, schedules, contracts, and project documentation.
- Experience managing subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and field personnel.
- Strong financial awareness, including project budgets, cost tracking, forecasting, change orders, and billing.
- Estimating, takeoff, proposal, or preconstruction experience is strongly valued for certain opportunities.
- Excellent organization and follow-through.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to manage several projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Confidence in communicating with customers and general contractors.
- A practical, solutions-oriented approach to problems.
- Comfort spending time both in the office and on active jobsites.
Proficiency with common construction and business technology such as Microsoft Office, PDF/drawing-management software, estimating software, scheduling tools, and project-management systems.
A valid driver's license and the ability to travel to projects throughout the Baltimore/Washington region as needed.
A college degree in construction management, engineering, business, or a related discipline is helpful, but relevant construction experience and demonstrated project-management ability may offset the education requirement.
