Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Psychologist to support students' academic, behavioral, social, and emotional success within the school setting. Under the direction of the Coordinator of Behavior/Mental Health Services, Director of Special Education, and School Principal, the School Psychologist will conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, develop behavioral supports, and provide consultation to educators and families. This position may serve multiple schools within the Client's district.
Essential Responsibilities
- Deliver services consistent with the ethical and professional standards established by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) and the American Psychological Association (APA).
- Comply with all applicable federal, state, local, and Client policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Advocate for the rights and well-being of students within the school and community.
- Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations and assessments appropriate to each student's needs.
- Interpret assessment results and prepare comprehensive psychological evaluation reports within required timelines.
- Develop recommendations to support students' academic achievement, behavioral success, functional performance, and social-emotional development.
- Participate as a member of Individualized Education Program (IEP) teams and Manifestation Determination meetings.
- Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and assist in developing and implementing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
- Support students transitioning from alternative educational placements back into traditional school settings.
- Consult with teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families regarding accommodations, interventions, modifications, and behavioral supports.
- Provide individual and small-group counseling and consultation to students and families as appropriate.
- Serve as an active member of Student Support Teams, Section 504 Teams, Crisis Teams, Response to Intervention (RTI/MTSS) Teams, and other multidisciplinary problem-solving teams.
- Support Client initiatives, including Inclusive Practices, Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), Response to Intervention (RTI/MTSS), and other student support programs.
- Coach and collaborate with educators regarding progress monitoring and intervention strategies.
- Assist with Comprehensive Threat and Risk Assessments.
- Plan and facilitate professional development as directed by the Office of Special Education Services.
- Provide education, training, and consultation to school personnel and parents regarding student needs and effective interventions.
- Work designated summer days to complete evaluations, reports, and other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education.
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, local, and professional standards, including the ethical guidelines established by NASP and APA.
QualificationsRequired
- Master's, Specialist (Ed.S.), or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited program.
- Holds or is eligible to obtain Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) certification/endorsement as a School Psychologist.
- Knowledge of special education laws and regulations, including IDEA and Section 504.
- Experience administering, scoring, and interpreting standardized psychological assessments.
- Strong understanding of behavior assessment, intervention planning, and social-emotional learning.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, families, and community partners.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and time-management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working as a School Psychologist in a public or private school setting.
- Experience with crisis intervention and threat assessment.
- Familiarity with MTSS/RTI, PBIS, inclusive educational practices, and special education processes.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to move throughout school buildings and campuses.
- Ability to sit, stand, and use a computer for extended periods.

Pay: $51.00 - $53.00 per hour
