Full Job Description

The Blue Hill Inn, a well-established historic inn in coastal Maine, is seeking an experienced Breakfast Chef for the 2026 summer and fall seasons. This is a seasonal, morning-only role ideal for a cook who enjoys a calm, organized kitchen and steady guest volume (12–28 breakfasts/day).

Responsibilities

Prepare a consistent, high-quality 2–3 course breakfast service
Execute daily specials and seasonal dishes/ability to create personalized dishes
Maintain kitchen cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards
Manage timing and breakfast flow independently
Baking or prep for teas and small events
Communicate clearly with innkeepers and breakfast staff

Qualifications

Professional cooking experience (breakfast, line, or short-order preferred)
Reliability and punctuality — early mornings are essential
Ability to work independently with excellent organization
Experience managing a small kitchen or station
Positive attitude, strong communication skills, and guest-centered mindset
Local or commutable to Blue Hill, ME

Schedule

Seasonal position: Mid to Late May–October (flexible start)
5 shifts/week
Typical schedule: 7:00am–12:00 (breakfast service 8-9:30)
Additional hours available for baking or event prep

Compensation & Benefits

Competitive hourly pay: $20–$28/hr, based on experience
Season-end bonus for completing the full fall season
