Talent Acquisition Specialist
Coastal Maine General Contracting – Ellsworth and Mount Desert Island, Maine
Full-Time | $20.00–$30.00/year (based on experience)

At Coastal Maine GC, we're a design-build construction company focused on quality workmanship, clear communication, and building exceptional teams.

We are looking for a Talent Acquisition Specialist to lead our hiring efforts by attracting, recruiting, and preparing exceptional employees for successful careers with our company. This role manages the hiring process from initial sourcing through pre-employment and first-day readiness, ensuring every new hire has a professional and organized experience before joining our team.

Working closely with the People Operations Manager and department leaders, you'll develop recruiting strategies, build talent pipelines, create an outstanding candidate experience, and coordinate every step of the hiring process leading up to an employee's first day.

What You’ll Be Doing

Talent Acquisition

Manage full-cycle recruiting for office and field positions.
Source, attract, and build relationships with qualified candidates.
Create and manage job postings across recruiting platforms.
Develop talent pipelines to support current and future hiring needs.

Candidate Experience

Review applications, conduct interviews, and coordinate the hiring process.
Maintain clear communication with candidates from application through offer.
Represent Coastal Maine General Contracting professionally throughout the recruiting process.

Pre-Employment Coordination

Coordinate offers, background checks, drug screenings, physicals, and employment documentation.
Ensure new hires complete all pre-employment requirements before their first day.
Prepare new hire information and coordinate a seamless transition to the People Operations Manager for employee onboarding.

Recruiting Operations

Maintain applicant tracking and recruiting records.
Partner with the People Operations Manager and department leaders to meet hiring goals.
Continuously improve recruiting processes and the candidate experience.

What We’re Looking For

2+ years of recruiting, talent acquisition, staffing, or related experience preferred.
Experience in construction, skilled trades, manufacturing, or similar industries is preferred but not required.
Strong communication, relationship-building, and interviewing skills.
Highly organized with exceptional follow-through and attention to detail.
Comfortable managing multiple open positions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with Indeed, applicant tracking systems, LinkedIn, or other recruiting platforms preferred.
Self-motivated and able to work independently while collaborating closely with the People Operations Manager and department leaders.
