Assignment:

Mon – Fri; 7 hours per day

Food Service Driver: 1.5 hours/day

Kitchen Helper: 5.5 hours/day

Responsibilities:
Under general supervision, to load, deliver and unload prepared foods and hot carts to various sites according to a prearranged schedule. Also assisting the kitchen staff in preparing and serving meals to students.
Required Qualifications:

High School diploma or GED
-
Valid Washington State Driver’s License
-
Must have an excellent driving record
-
Food handler card
-
WSP/FBI Fingerprint background clearance (fee paid by the employee)
-
Have relevant experience/skills in driving a truck or van
-
Must be able to lift to 50 pounds
-
Must have the ability to work with a team and communicate with supervisor, administrator, staff, students, parents, and the community with tact and diplomacy
-
Must be flexible and caring; have respect for others and a sense of humor. Will consciously model the values of trust and integrity while also being a positive role model for children
-
Must be able to interact with children, staff, parents, and the community in a warm, confident manor

Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing

Must be able to utilize basic math skills

Regular attendance is an essential function of this position

The safety and health of students and others is an essential function of this position
Examples of Duties:
-
Pick up the food service truck at the Elma Transportation Building, and head to the high school
-
Load and unload containers, hot carts, and utensils, and make proper distribution
-
Drive a delivery truck to deliver prepared foods from production kitchen to middle school, elementary school, and Satsop school
-
Pick up used food trays, hot carts, and paperwork and return them to the high school kitchen
-
Assist in maintaining food, paper goods, and frozen food storage areas
-
Assist with cleaning vehicle equipment
-
Refuel food service truck as needed
-
Maintain daily mileage and maintenance log sheets
-
Report any malfunctions or problems to the Elma Transportation Department
-
Assist in the preparation of meals, including measuring and mixing ingredients, peeling and cutting vegetables, and cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment
-
Help with the distribution of meals to students, ensuring that each student receives the correct portion size
-
Clean and maintain the kitchen and dining area, including washing dishes, sweeping and mopping floors, and wiping down surfaces
-
Follow all safety and sanitation procedures, including wearing appropriate clothing and using gloves when handling food
-
Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned
