Elmira College is a private liberal arts College located in the Finger Lakes region of New York. Elmira College was the first college to offer a comprehensive curriculum for women, and is home of the Center for Mark Twain Studies. We are seeking candidates to fill the position of Administrative Coordinator of CSD and Teacher Education.
Essential Functions of the Position:
The Administrative Coordinator of Teacher Education is responsible for supporting programmatic expectations with regard to professional accreditation and certification standards at Elmira College, including NYSED, NC-SARA, and AAQEP along with supporting the daily operations of our Speech and Hearing Clinic. This position serves as an essential component to maintaining compliance in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) and undergraduate Teacher Education programs. Additionally, this position serves as the first point of contact for patients and families while ensuring efficient administrative operations and maintaining a clean, welcoming clinic environment.
Duties Include:

Assist with collection of data for the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders and the undergraduate Teacher Education programs, including but not limited to data mandated by NYSED and AAQEP;

Provide instructions for students to complete federal and state mandated certifications / clearances;

Assist with student placements, ensure clear communication with cooperating teachers, and confirm placement reports are completed;

Ensure the completion of institutional recommendations and / or provide students on the individualized pathway with clear instructions;

Provide administrative support to the Chair of Teacher Education and Teacher Education faculty;
-
Provide administrative support to the Chair of Communication Science and Disorders and CSD faculty;
-
Participate in cross-training to provide operational support and maintain continuity of services

Support Elmira College’s Speech and Hearing Clinic

Support overall clinic operations through collaboration with faculty, staff, and student clinicians to ensure efficient and effective daily operations

Greet patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner;
-
Schedule appointments, manage provider calendars, and coordinate patient flow;
-
Answer phone calls, respond to emails, and assist with general inquiries;
-
Register patients, verify payment information, and maintain accurate patient records;
-
Process purchases, invoices, reimbursements, and other financial transactions in a timely manner.

Perform other front-office administrative duties;

Prepare and organize clinical documents and office correspondence;
-
Order and maintain office and clinic supplies;
-
Coordinate communication between patients, clinicians, and outside providers as needed;
-
Assist with general office projects and administrative support;
-
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of reception, waiting, therapy, and administrative areas throughout the workday;

Disinfect commonly touched surfaces, toys, therapy materials, and equipment in accordance with clinic infection control procedures.

Serve as receptionist at the desk in the Speech and Hearing Clinic (80%) and the Teacher Education Office (20%)

Assist with monitoring and management of departmental and clinic budgets in accordance with institution’s policies and procedures.

Monitor expenditures, reconcile accounts, and maintain accurate financial records.

Prepare budget reports and provide financial information to department leadership to support planning and decision-making
-
Participate in and support occasional evening and weekend clinics, outreach activities, recruitment events, open houses, and other departmental events as needed.

Assist the Provost in tracking and maintaining a comprehensive list of articulation agreements.

Contact current and potential articulation agreement partners with curricular updates at least twice a year on behalf of Elmira College.

Other duties as assigned by Chair of Teacher Ed, Chair of CSD and Advisor of Graduate and Professional Studies
Qualifications:

Associate’s degree is preferred
-
Experience working in an office environment. Experience in an educational setting a plus.

Computer skills – Microsoft Word & Excel, e-mail, Google Docs

Strong organizational skills
-
Personable, able to work with diverse populations.
WORK LOCATION: On-Site (NOT remote)
COMPENSATION: $19.00 p/hour
This position is benefit eligible
STATUS: Nonexempt (37.5 hours per week)
