Join Our Leadership Team

Vantage Health System is seeking an experienced and passionate behavioral health leader to serve as our Vice President of Clinical Services & Outpatient Operations. This executive leadership position plays a vital role in shaping the organization's clinical vision while overseeing the daily operations of our outpatient behavioral health programs.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader who is committed to delivering high-quality, person-centered care, developing strong clinical teams, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving operational excellence. This is an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact within a respected nonprofit behavioral healthcare organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families throughout our communities.

Key Responsibilities

Executive Leadership

Serve as a member of the Executive Leadership Team.
Collaborate with the President & CEO to develop and implement strategic clinical initiatives.
Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of behavioral health programs and services.
Partner with organizational leadership to ensure continuity of care across all behavioral health services.
Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and continuous quality improvement.
Represent Vantage Health System with community partners, hospitals, managed care organizations, and regulatory agencies.

Clinical & Outpatient Operations

Provide executive oversight of all outpatient behavioral health services.
Direct the daily operations of outpatient mental health, substance use, psychiatric, and integrated behavioral health programs.
Monitor referrals, admissions, discharges, clinician productivity, scheduling, and overall program performance.
Develop workflows that improve patient access, operational efficiency, and quality outcomes.
Identify opportunities for program growth, service expansion, and innovative clinical programming.

Leadership & Staff Development

Supervise Program Directors, outpatient clinicians, clinical support staff, and graduate student interns.
Provide clinical supervision to clinicians pursuing independent licensure in accordance with New Jersey licensing requirements.
Oversee the outpatient internship program, including university partnerships, orientation, supervision, and professional development.
Recruit, mentor, coach, and develop high-performing clinical leaders and staff.
Support employee engagement, succession planning, and leadership development initiatives.

Financial & Operational Management

Develop and manage departmental budgets.
Monitor productivity, revenue, staffing levels, and operational performance.
Partner with Finance, Revenue Cycle, and Utilization Management to maximize reimbursement and improve efficiency.
Assist with grant development and long-term program sustainability initiatives.

Quality, Compliance & Accreditation

Ensure compliance with CARF standards, NJ DMHAS regulations, NJ Department of Health requirements, Medicaid, Medicare, commercial payer standards, HIPAA, and organizational policies.
Lead quality improvement initiatives and monitor clinical outcomes.
Prepare programs for licensing reviews, accreditation surveys, and regulatory audits.
Promote evidence-based, trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and person-centered care throughout the organization.

Community Partnerships

Build and strengthen relationships with hospitals, referral sources, managed care organizations, and community partners.
Represent Vantage Health System at professional meetings, community events, and industry organizations.
Serve as an ambassador for the organization's mission and values.

Qualifications Required

Master's Degree in Social Work.
Active New Jersey Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license in good standing.
Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive leadership experience within behavioral healthcare.
Minimum of five (5) years of management experience supervising multidisciplinary clinical teams.
Experience leading outpatient behavioral health operations.
Strong knowledge of behavioral healthcare regulations, clinical documentation standards, utilization management, quality improvement, and risk management.
Experience with electronic health records and behavioral healthcare reimbursement systems.
Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and strategic planning skills.

Preferred

Experience managing departmental budgets and financial performance.
CARF accreditation experience.
Grant development and program sustainability experience.
Experience with integrated behavioral healthcare models.
