Full Job Description

Kitchen Lead — New Restaurant Opening

Opening August 2026 in Paramus, NJ
Pay: $20.50–$23.50 per hour

Canton Rodeo is opening its first location, and we’re looking for an experienced, energetic Kitchen Lead to help bring it to life!

You’ll lead from the front—prepping, cooking, carving, coaching the team, and keeping the kitchen running smoothly. This is a great opportunity for someone who takes pride in great food, enjoys developing others, and knows how to bring positive energy to a busy kitchen.

What You’ll Do

Lead Back of House operations during assigned shifts
Prepare, marinate, cook, portion, and carve meats to our standards
Coordinate kitchen stations to maintain speed, quality, and consistency
Train, coach, and support Prep Cooks through hands-on guidance
Keep the kitchen prepared, stocked, clean, and organized
Monitor food quality, freshness, storage, and portioning
Step into any kitchen station when the team needs support
Resolve operational challenges and communicate needs to management
Follow all food-safety, sanitation, knife-safety, and equipment procedures
Create a positive, accountable, and team-first kitchen environment

What We’re Looking For

Restaurant kitchen experience and a positive leadership style
Strong knife, carving, wok, portioning, and food-preparation skills
Ability to lead by example and coach team members
High standards for food quality, cleanliness, and organization
Clear communication and strong attention to detail
Ability to stay focused and make decisions during busy service
Reliable attendance and flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Spanish-English bilingual skills and Food Handler certification are a plus

This active role requires standing for extended periods, working around high heat and kitchen equipment, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
