Description:
PURPOSE OF POSITION The program director is responsible for the organization, delivery, and quality of YMCA one or more programs to the membership and community. Works independently under general direction and is expected to determine how to accomplish tasks. The program director manages childcare, family, and teen related activities in accordance with the purpose and policies of the Association. This position prefers a college degree from an accredited college or university and experience.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Childcare Duties to include After School and Day Camp during the summer
1. Recruit, train, and supervise childcare staff
2. Oversee the licensed day camp and after school program
3. Establish and maintain the childcare programs to be licensed ACA (American Camp Association) approved
4. Develop a Parent Night at the beginning and ending of the summer day camp
5. Monitor and purchase necessary supplies for the childcare department
6. Maintain accurate records of children and staff
7. Oversee childcare budget
8. Incorporate YMCA character development in childcare programs
9. Plan and organize childcare events and field trips
10. Secure and monitor transportation for field trips
11. Purchase and distribute camp shirts
12. Prepare weekly activities for the after school and summer day camp programs
13. Secure facilities and admission for camp field trips and events
14. Monitor daily camp operations to adhere to all state, local, and YMCA health and safety regulations 15. Ensures childcare staff First Aid and CPR certified
16. Coordinates use of facilities for daily events
17. Fundraising Events-Prepare, recruit, advertise, and supervise YMCA golf tournament to benefit the childcare scholarship programs, and supervise
18. Complete payroll for all childcare staff
19. Schedule and meet with staff on a quarterly basis for training
20. Serve as staff representative on Program Committee

7. Confidentiality is imperative, the incumbent must be mature and discrete
8. Maintain good relations with the community and outside vendors
