As a Sign Fabricator with our growing Manufacturing Team, some of the job duties performed will include:
- Positioning, aligning, fitting, and welding parts to form a complete unit or subunit
- Study engineering drawings and blueprints to determine materials required and task sequences
- Verifying conformance of work pieces to specifications using squares, rulers and measuring tapes
- Tack-welding fitted parts together
- Set up and operate fabricating machines such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, grinders and drill presses to bend, cut, form, punch, drill or otherwise form and assemble metal components.
- Align and fit parts according to specifications using jacks, turnbuckles, wedges, drift pins, pry bars, and hammers
- Additional duties as needed
Qualifications, education, and requirements for the Sign Fabricator position include:
- Looking for evening shifts:
1:30pm-10:00 pm M-TH & 11:30 am-7:30 pm F
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
- Works well in team environment.
- Some trade school coursework preferred
- 2-5 years or more experience as a sheet metal fabricator – aluminum welding preferred
Physical requirements for the Sign Fabricator position include:
Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The work is performed primarily indoors. There are significant changes in temperature and humidity across the plant and office areas.
