Full Job Description

Organize daily group activities in each building.
Organize activities inclusive of written direction for care providers to facilitate outside of scheduled activities or in the absence of the Activity Coordinator.
Conduct one on one activities with residents on a regularly scheduled rotation.
Chart resident’s participation in activities.
Plan and coordinate major events.
Create events to include residents, resident families, and employees. Provide promotional flyers for events.
Review resident’s initial resident plan and if needed interview resident(s) and family member(s) to ensure that activities being provided are appropriate, individualized and resident centered.
Coordinate with dietary manager regarding food needs at least two weeks prior to need.
Recruit, coordinate and orient volunteers and paid entertainers.
Maintain and store activity supplies within the buildings and garage in an organized manner.
Investigate, implement, and utilize free community resources that will enhance the activity program.
Celebrate resident’s birthday during lunchtime. Coordinate with kitchen, decorate table with birthday decorations and balloons.
Decorate facility and bulletin boards for holidays, seasons, and special occasions.
Provide pictures and updates to Administrator to be posted on social media and website.
Incorporate daily 3:00pm snack into the daily activity schedule.
Provide guidance as needed to care providers and/or volunteers.
Understand the facility’s fire and disaster plans; follow established procedures during drills and actual emergencies.
Work with beautician once a week assisting with transporting residents to and from appointments.
Schedule remainder of day after beautician visits for administrative tasks.
Participate in administrative meetings; maintain good communication with all departments.
Recognize and acknowledge positive interactions between staff and residents. Be a morale booster.
Hours: Monday – Friday from 8:00am – 4:30pm with some flex required for activities outside of regular working hours and assistance with care provider shifts.
AS NEEDED:
Assist with resident care.
Help in the dining room i.e., prepping drinks, serving residents, feeding residents, clean-up after meals, dishes.
Assist residents in activities of daily living (ADLs) such as eating, bathing, dressing, toileting, ambulation, nail care, shaving, foot care, etc.
